Our training is for people who want to teach their dog how to behave and be comfortable with everyday situations. Our dog training venues are close to town centres enabling you to practice your handling skills indoors and outdoors around a wide range of distractions.

Our aim is to teach you to understand your dog’s behaviour, and by using our training methods, you will have a happy and enjoyable relationship with your pet. Have a Good Dog training is based on a sound understanding of learning theory.

Come and try this brand new class called METAFIT…

This class is only 30 minutes long and is designed to keep working for up to 24 hours! It is a body weighted interval training session which tones up the muscles and leaves your metabolism fired up to blast stubborn body fat. It is a half an hour high intense session working all the major muscle groups, constantly changing your bodies resting metabolism  Warning – be prepared.. your body will change from this class.

The Day Clubs provide a social setting for older people to meet. We provide activities to overcome social isolation from meeting with your peer group, quizzes, bingo, dominoes, arts and craft activites and occasional outingoutings.  We can provide  transport to and from our venue and this is included in the price of the session.

 

The charges for attending can vary but as of the 1st June 2012 it costs £8.00 per session.  The group is run by volunteers.  We accept self or family referrals and or referrrals from statutory bodies should they think this beneficial to the individual.  Please note that to access this group and to get the best from attending you need to have a degree of independence.  We have suitable access for wheelchair users but you would need a degree of independent mobility ie you can get around by yourself with the minum of assistance.

 

Please note that we do not provide persoanl care and cannot assist with toileting or  the provision of medication as our volunteers are not qualified to do this.  However you can bring your own care with you or check with social services to see if you are eligible for support with personal-care whilst attending.  We will ask you to complete a form when you express an interest to help us understand your requirements

Ladies Badminton

The group currently comprises of ladies 18+ only

We meet on a Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm to play Badminton and to socialise.  The group has between 10 -15 members.  Each session costs £3.00.  We also meet twice a year for Social Outings and or parties.

Support For Vulnerable Adults (18+)

The Re-able group is part of Durham County Council Health and Well-being.  The group provide support for people who need help to remain or to return to the community after illness or a period or treatment or an episode or incident in their lives.  The group is profession based and referrals can be made via the above contact number.

Judo Childrens

We have relocated from our previous venue to Ouston Community Association   The British Judo Association was established in 2001 by Steve Makin and Alan Warrington.  We are a non profit organisation set up to help children enter the martial arts at a minimal cost.  All monies raised and or donated go directly back into the organisation to benefit our young members.

Ladies Slimmer’s

Ladies Slimmer’s is a small and friendly club and is predominantly a discussion club—no hard and fast rules– Most people know which foods to eat and which to avoid!.  We have weekly weigh ins and discussions to find out what the gainers are doing wrong!  We prefer to have no gainers of course.  Why not come and join us.  Please feel free to turn up any Wednesday evening where you will find a welcome

This group is a social group for ‘older ladies’. The group meet fortnightly for a get together.  Activities include Quiz nights, social’s, auctions, bingo, domino’s and outings.  The group have a speaker once a month, and an outing in May, in the Summer and at Christmas.  The group may have a waiting list for membership and it always advisable to check availability.
